The word LOKITHO was coined by the designer KIMURA,
combining LOKI, the Scandinavian God of fire and mischief, with CLOTHO, the Greek Goddess of fate who spins the thread of life.
Like an inheritor of LOKI’s charming mischievous mind, LOKITHO loves witty and joyous women.
Taking inspiration from the rich Japanese cultural identity LOKITHO creates elegant and urban collections.
KIMURA was born in Kyoto, Japan, in 1979.
After studying sociology at university, he took a Design course at the Bunka Fashion College to pursue his real passion.
As of 2005, KIMURA worked for the famous Japanese designer MUG, on the G.V.G.V. label and was responsible for creating the women’s collection.
In 2009, KIMURA founded the company, ALPINISME Co. Ltd., and launched his own label “LOKITHO” with his 2010 Spring/Summer collection.
In 2015, KIMURA won the ‘Tokyo New Designer Grand Prix’, organized by JFW and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
